Want to know what scares me?
I have all of these amazing friends around me.
So many have helped me through different difficult times.
I've shared in common a lot of things.
I've bonded with a lot of them.
But over a period of time, all of that gets forgotten with a single move, a fight, broken promises etc. How do I know who I'll actually stay in contact with my friends for a good number of years to come? You - Mesa Rose - are one AWESOME friend. I couldn't even describe how great you've been. But will I be calling you up someday and arranging play dates with our kids? Or will life take us separate ways? I know a lot of parents go back to high school reunions/look through yearbooks and don't even remember anyone there. It's a thought that scares me. But it's reality. <--That's a big word.
Not to fear though. I looked up the percentage of how long good friendships can last.... and well, I found none... But I did find this website: http://e-infotainment.com/applications/friendship-calculator/ I put our names in, and good news, we have 61% chance of staying friends forever! :) Apparently higher than I have with most of my siblings! (winkety face!) Wherever life takes us Mesa, I know you'll be on that list of people I won't forget. Neither will my kids, because you along with others are constantly listed in my journals! But I hope somehow, even if it's just the occasional phone call every couple of years... We stay in touch!
