Dear Masterpiece Mesa

I thought it was impossible for someone to paint as awesomely as you did on your first day. Makes me a little bit jealous ;) Sure I know a bunch more tips and tricks than you, but I can tell, one day, you will just pass me up! --Per usual :) Hopefully that day doesn't come too soon.... Meaning in the next week or something! So anyway. I just wanted to say welcome.... And uh, you're an ARTIST now.... You can say that! Cause you take classes with me! Yeah, we have jackets, I'll get you one.

Dear Mesa

Three songs have been stuck in my head since yesterday.
You mentioned two of them in your last post...
Firstly, let me tell you HOW much I love Sleeping Beauty. It is my all time favorite movie.

I remember before I moved here, around the age of 3-4, when I would wake up every morning and mom and dad wouldn't wake up when I came into their room,  I would tip toe downstairs, turn on the TV, and start up the VCR... I'd lie on my back and stare up at the TV watching Sleeping Beauty. I do admit I was scared when Maleficent would appear on screen and I was the only one awake.... Then it would be turned off. But I was such a dedicated child to watch that movie all the time. When I was 3, I would climb up on my Oma's knees and sing the "Once Upon A Dream" song. My Oma still brings that up today and sometimes asks me to sing it.... even though I'm not as comfortable doing that as I was at age 3. (winkety face) So that movie still makes me extremely happy today.


Secondly, I hated the movie Cinderella --not because it was a bad movie, but because I couldn't stand watching Prince Charming be with her. He is such a cheater it disgusted me. "Prince Charming" was with Snow White first... Then he just walked alllll over her as if she were dirt. So I couldn't stand him or that movie. And the fact that her dad died... Wow. Makes me angry. But I do love the songs. Especially "A Dream Is A Wish" which has also been stuck in my head all day.


Lastly, the one you did not mention, would be Pinnochio. I actually never saw the Disney version of this because I watched a play of it once, and in it, he threw up, and the REAL HUMAN boy growing donkey ears, and a long nose... Quite frankly scared me. So I never saw it. But this song, is another one of those songs that just made me feel wonderful!  It too was stuck in my head. 

I've never heard this version of it... But Julie Andrews makes anything sound good. Did you know she's coming to our hometown to accept an award? When I was little I wished I could meet her.... Too bad it's $75 just to see her accept the thing! 


But anyway... “If you can dream it, you can do it.” -Walt Disney  ...Still rings true.
